to lie or suffer decomposition?

Think of civilization as the delate balance between barbarism and oblivion. The United states is headed in the same direction as the roman empire. We need to step bck and look at how we have twisted the words and ideals of the founding fathers into the oppessive system that is in place today.

This is my rebuttal:

Defense of Homosexual Marriage

I saw something a moment ago that shocked me more than anything before in my life. College Life at Rocky Point is sponsoring a meeting to denounce homosexual marriages. For some strange reason, these people are confusing religious law with state law. I don’t care if their bible denounces homosexual marriages; our government is not based upon biblical texts. Homosexual marriages are protected by the First Amendment.
The First Amendment states that Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; therefore, we cannot use religious ideals to influence the laws of our country. It doesn’t matter if the majority of Americans think that homosexual marriage is wrong, the First Amendment extends its protection to everyone. The reason that America is so great is that we all are supposed to be open-minded toward all other people. This isn’t always easy, but we owe it to all who fought to protect the freedoms we enjoy to except those that are different, and not try to change them.
These Christians seem to be confusing civil marriages with religious marriages. The institution of civil marriage is ruled by the laws of the state, meaning that it must follow all the laws of the Constitution. This method just unifies two people in the eyes of our government. Unlike its more liberating brother, religious marriage has to conform to church dogma. Specific religions can ban marriage within their religion; however, they cannot stop the state from marrying homosexuals.
I am seriously against what the people of College Life at Rocky Point are trying to say about college students at Tarleton State University. I don’t want to see my, no our Constitution marred by such a blatant attack on people who are just being different. Not everyone is as narrow-minded as these people obviously are, and hopefully in the future we will be more accepting.

One of my friends, on the left, is with me at one of my summer jobs. Posted by Picasa

What do you guys think of this?

Our economy sucks. My idea is that we should back up the US dollar by precious metals. Like Uranium, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and so on. this would boost the base value of the dollar enouhg that we would have a slight return to the past. Using breeder reactors we can have quite a supply to back up the dollar. Perhaps we should mine the moon or some other Near Earth Object. (NEO) we can use nuclear powered rockets to bring an asteroid into a low earth orbit, (LEO) the cost of mining would be minimal, as there are very few power requirements to drop something down to earth. Any comments will be appreciated.
